"Marching On: Three events for the rebirth of New Orleans" kicks off with "Ambassador of Swing Talent Search" hosted at Harrah's Casino Theater.

The premiere episode will be taped Sunday, August 27 with Wynton Marsalis performing a roll call of historical talent while introducing new talent from the gulf region. In January, Ambassador of Swing will return with ten episodes and a spectacular season finale in the spring, when America will find out who will be the next Ambassador of Swing.

  Admission to this event is through sponsorships---no tickets will be sold to the general public.

The Ambassador of Swing Talent SearchContestant Entry Information

The pilot episode of the Ambassador of Swing Talent Search will feature 3 randomly selected performers from the New Orleans and Mississippi Delta region to share the stage with Wynton Marsalis for the August 27th show at Harrah's Casino Theater.  The performers will be personally selected by J. Kevin Swain, the show's producer.

Contestant entries for the shows' series which will launch in early 2007 are now being accepted.  Send a 3-5 minute video (VHS or DVD) featuring your best ‘swingin’ live venue performance to:

All submissions must be received or post marked before 10/15/2006.  The finalists will compete on The Ambassador of Swing Talent Search series in early 2007.  There will be 11 additional episodes and a finale in the spring.
